He calls that hat-trick the “golden triangle”. Jonny has travelled extensively around the world, visiting every continent and over 100 countries, yet he still calls Northern Ireland the best place on the planet. Jonny’s niche is North Down but he also loves Londonderry, Belfast and the North Antrim Coast. He likes a wee packet of Tayto Wuster sauce and a   pint of Caffrey’s or Guinness.

Abbi Morrison - Backpacking in Northern IrelandAbbi Morrison – North Coast Expert Abbi was born in Ballymoney, Co. Antrim, but grew up in Coleraine, and spent many summers working in the coastal town of Portrush, though Portstewart Stand is one of her favourite beaches in the world. After leaving the North Coast in 2006, Abbi studied and lived in England, before leaving the UK altogether in 2011. Abbi lived and worked in New Zealand, and has travelled over South East Asia, Oceania and Europe. Northern Ireland will always be home for Abbi. She is well versed in all things North Coast; from quaint cafes bars and restaurants to secret spots to watch sunsets, and great places to walk.

Northern Ireland backpacking expert Allan Wilson Jonny Blair

Allan Wilson, Food and Culture Expert – Allan Wilson is the Food and Culture expert for Backpacking in Northern Ireland. Allan was born and grew up in Bangor and of course he rates Bangor as his favourite place to be in NI. Allan now lives in Thailand, with homes in both Bangkok and rural Thailand, which he uses as a base for extensive travel in Asia. Allan’s niche is in food tourism but he also loves photography, boutique hotels and any opportunity for unique experiences. He likes a wee bottle of Black Bush and a pint of Buckfast.
